Highly unusual large Chinese porcelain brush washer in the form of a bird of prey perched on a pine tree and with a wolf or similar animal standing opposite and looking at the bird. Likely a 20th century – possibly Republic period – example, even though we have not been able to find anything even remotely similar for reference. A truly unique piece for a collection! Fine antique Chinese silver inlaid bronze incense burner in the form of a saddled horse standing on a rectangular plinth. Missing its cover which is usually modelled as a seated poet Du Fu. Judging by the wear and patina likely a 19th century, Qing dynasty example. We’ve never seen one with silver inlay before. Height: 13.5 cm.

Unusual antique Chinese bottle or pepper/salt shaker with intricate relief decoration featuring a dragon flying amongst the clouds. Base marked with typical Chinese ‘zú wén’ 足紋 silver mark and signed 徳順 or 德順 ‘De Shun / Tek Soon’, with another unknown symbol below. Possibly a Peranakan Chinese example made for the Straits communities. Weight: 29.5 grams. Height: 6.5 cm.

Fine Vintage Japanese Damascene Komai Style Box by Amita Eagle on a Pine 20th C

Fabulous vintage Japanese gilt damascene jewellery or trinket box by Amita. Cover is decorated a finely detailed scene featuring eagle perched on a pine tree, with additional small birds flying along the sides of the box. Inside of the lid is decorated with incised landscape scene and box itself is lined with red felt. Marked Amita Japan to the base. Dimensions: 14×9.5×4.5 cm.

Chinese or Japanese Antique Blue White Porcelain Wayang Dish For Javanese Market

Rare antique Chinese or Japanese export porcelain dish/shallow bowl made for the Javanese market. Featuring underglaze blue decoration with traditional Javanese Wayang shadow puppets. This type is often described as Japanese but identified as Chinese by Bennett, J., et al. in their book Crescent Moon: Islamic Art & Civilisation in Southeast Asia, Art Gallery of South Australia, 2005. We’ve also found another example listed as lot 55 in the Asian Collection & Fine Art sale by Pacific Galleries (July 14, 2018) with hexagonal Chinese export stamp so would lean towards a Chinese origin. Unusual Chinese Antique Bronze Incense Burner 19th-20th Century Qing or Republic

This is an unusual item and we couldn’t find much information on it. It appears to be some type of bronze or similar copper alloy vessel, possibly an incense burner judging by the type of metal used and patination on the inside. Metal is thick and the weight is approximately 1.554 kg. Base is flat and has remnants of some grey material, as if it was attached to something. Interesting object and looks very attractive. Diameter: 22 cm. Weight is approximately 1.554 kg.

Sublime antique Japanese Meiji period Satsuma vase decorated by Taizan Yohei IX and inspired by the works of Kono Bairei. Featuring a continuous scene with sparrows and butterflies flying amongst the flowers. Base signed with typical black overglaze mark 大日本 帯山製 ‘Great Japan, Made by Taizan’ and with very faint impressed ‘Taizan’ 帯山 kiln mark to the right (hard to photograph). Beautiful, well-preserved example of unusual form. Height: 23.5 cm.
