Kawase Hasui – Rainy Night at Maekawa. Original Japanese Shin-hanga Woodblock Print

Beautiful original Japanese shin-hanga woodblock print ‘Rainy Night at Maekawa’ by Hasui Kawase (1883 – 1957). Inscribed along the right edge. Signed in the lower left corner and marked with two red seals – one belongs to the artist and the other one presumably belongs to the publisher Watanabe (?). Lovely print with nice strong colours. Comes framed and glazed – print can easily be taken out of the frame if necessary. Frame shows some signs of age.

Antique Chinese Blue & White Export Porcelain Dish Plate With Floral Decoration

Charming 18th century export porcelain dish with underglaze blue decoration featuring parasol tree and peonies among scholar’s rocks with additional sprays of peonies along the border. Very skilfully decorated with excellent use of negative space!

Antique French Porcelain Plate in Japanese Kakiemon Style by Gabriel Fourmaintraux

Very rare early 20th century dish by French artist Gabriel Fourmaintraux (1886-1984). Decorated in Kakiemon style with a scene featuring dragon coiled around a bamboo and a tiger gazing up to the sky. This pattern was copied either from the original 17th century Japanese Arita piece or from one of the later European copies of this type (such as those produced by Chelsea Porcelain Manufactory during the mid-18th century). Marked with Sun symbol to the base with initials GF inside and inscribed Desvres France 20500.

Antique Japanese Miniature Cloisonne Teapot. Style of Takahara Komajiro, Meiji Period

Fine Japanese miniature cloisonne teapot in the manner of Takahara Komajiro, embellished with colourful floral medallions set against a black spiral diaper ground. Charming example of its type and a great addition to any collection.

Fine Chinese or Japanese Celadon Glazed Vase. Unusual Form

Stunning and beautifully potted celadon glazed vase of unusual form with long neck, flared lip and wide foot with a groove designed to collect drips of glaze flowing from the bulbous body. Very skilfully made example and a rare find. Of unknown origin but most probably a 20th century piece from China or Japan.

Antique Worcester Porcelain Teacup & Saucer Fence Pattern Dr Wall Period c. 1770

Great 18th century Worcester blue and white porcelain cup and saucer in the Chinese-style ‘Fence’ pattern depicting a continuous scene with two birds flying above a landscape with oversized flowers and scholars rocks behind a fence and with a building on an island in the distance. Both marked to the base with underglaze blue crescent moon mark (cup also with an additional letter E), dating these examples to pre-1783 ‘first period’ also known as ‘Dr .Wall period’, c. 1770.

Antique Chinese 18th Century Clobbered Qianlong Export Porcelain Dish. 9″

Antique 18th century Chinese blue and white Qianlong export porcelain plate that has later been decorated or ‘clobbered’ in England with bright overglaze enamels. Featuring a large central medallion with willow, peonies and pierced scholars rock, bordered by radiating panels with four dragons and additional floral motifs. Red pseudo-Chinese mark typical for clobberware of the period.
