Beautiful nine-sided (nonagonal) Japanese porcelain bowl by Higashi Fujiaki (東富士明, b. 1928), with hand-painted decoration featuring a samurai warrior on his horse and framed by a border of gilded cartouches and arrow motifs on a green honeycomb diaper ground. Reverse decorated with gunbai war fans and with green square maker’s mark that reads 九谷 富士明. Comes in its original wooden box inscribed 九谷色绘, 武士之图, 饰皿 and with signature on the reverse of the lid.

In excellent condition as per photographs.
