Wonderful antique Japanese porcelain dish depicting elderly figure looking at a peach floating down the river, likely depicting a scene from the popular Japanese folk tale of Momotarō a.k.a. ‘Peach Boy’. Not signed, apart from the inscription 火用心 visible on the item hanging from the figures waist.

Fantastic Japanese late Edo period cloisonne enamelled bowl featuring a myriad of geometric designs combined with floral and foliate motifs all around. Nice large decorative piece in great condition. Slight irregularities to the shape of the rim, typical for these early examples and not very noticeable. Has a hook attached on the back for hanging on the wall.

Colourful antique Chinese porcelain headrest/pillow with openwork carved cash symbols. Depicting a scene with two ladies in the garden on one side and a scene with two birds perched on a rock on the other. Two shorter sides are embellished with cartouches depicting butterflies. All of these are set against a stippled lime green background and framed by a diaper border. Interesting piece of Chinese porcelain.

Lovely Japanese petrified fossil wood suiseki viewing stone with a custom made stand inscribed with the date of collection ‘July 24 of the year Showa 46 (1971)’ and the location ‘Aomori Prefecture, Shimokita Peninsula, Mount Osore’. Lovely piece that can be displayed either on its wooden stand or traditionally in sand.

Fine Antique Japanese Reticulated Silver Incense Ball Spherical Koro 112.3 g

Exceptional antique Japanese spherical silver incense burner with very fine reticulated decoration featuring circular cartouches with wisterias, peonies, chrysanthemums and prunus blossom. Separates into two hemispheres that originally contained a gimbaled system of rings that would hold incense in correct orientation (now missing). There are no markings but is looks to be made out of high-grade silver (interior was left unpolished to show its original tarnishing).

Rare Antique Japanese Meiji Tokyo Export Porcelain Bamboo Pot Heinrich Ahrens Co

Rare antique Japanese Meiji period export porcelain pot by Ahrens Company founded in Tokyo in 1869, shortly after the Meiji Restoration, by a German/Prussian entrepreneur Heinrich Ahrens (died in Yokohama on October 18, 1886). Modelled as a section of a bamboo, decorated with relief-moulded flowers set against a cobalt blue background. Base marked with a book-shaped mark which reads 東京 アーレンス社 ‘Ahrens Co., Tokyo’ and with a very faint rectangular kiln mark above.

A similar pair of vases can be found in the Tetsuhito Tanabe Collection.
