Really nice antique Japanese wooden toggle depicting a male kabuki actor playing a female role (onnagata), holding a fan in his right hand and pushing down the left side of his robe, exposing a bare shoulder. Pair of himotoshi on the back. Beautifully done example with lovely facial expression and great patina. Not signed.

Interesting antique Japanese teapot, creamer and sugar bowl trio with colourful overglaze decoration featuring swallows flying amongst falling blossom. Each with underglaze blue mark 大日本 邦山製 ‘Great Japan, Made by Hozan’ (alternative reading is ‘Kuniyama’).

Charming 20th century Chinese doucai decorated porcelain dish depicting a scene with magpies and blossoming prunus tree, after Kangxi period dishes of similar style. Reverse marked with underglaze blue Kangxi reign mark and additional two marks, one of which appears to read ‘Xi Yin’ 惜銀.

Rare Chinese Antique Blue White Porcelain Dish For Javanese Market Wayang Puppet

Rare antique Chinese Qing dynasty export porcelain dish/shallow bowl made for the Javanese market. Featuring underglaze blue decoration with traditional Javanese Wayang shadow puppets. Signed 和合 underneath. This type is often incorrectly described as being Japanese but the way it is potted is clearly Chinese. It is correctly identified as Chinese by Bennett, J., et al. in their book Crescent Moon: Islamic Art & Civilisation in Southeast Asia, Art Gallery of South Australia, 2005. See also last photo for a similar, recently sold example with typical Chinese stamped hexagonal export seal.

Large Prehistoric Fossil Auroch Horn on a Stand Pleistocene Holocene 36 cm 14″

Fantastic large fossil horn of a prehistoric Auroch (Bos primigenius), extinct ancestor of domestic cattle. Remnants of small barnacles on the inside, indicating that this was preserved in the sea. Great piece for a collection!

Rare pair of antique Chinese bronze vases with silver inlaid decoration depicting bamboo and scholar’s rocks. Bases marked with inlaid ‘Shisou’ mark 石叟. This mark was originally used during the late Ming dynasty but present examples are likely slightly later Qing dynasty pieces dating to the 18th/19th century.
