Large Antique Japanese Satsuma Pottery Vase Signed Hattori Meiji Era 37 cm 14.5″

Stunning large antique Japanese Meiji period Satsuma pottery vase of hexagonal form. Decorated with two intricately painted scenes featuring numerous figures in heavily gilded kimonos and with blossoming cherry trees and birds behind them. All set against cobalt blue background embellished with gold butterflies and geometric designs. Base marked with the Shimazu mon and signed 薩摩焼 服部 ‘Satsuma ware, Hattori’. Height: 37 cm / 14.5 inches.

Interesting Chinese celadon glazed vase with relief-moulded decoration featuring flowers set against a honeycomb background and with ruyi border around the shoulder. Base marked with a four-character Yongzheng mark 雍正年製 but likely dating to the later Qing dynasty or Republic period. Height: 11 cm.

Fine vintage Japanese solid silver sake cup inscribed ‘In memory of your visit to Yokohama’ and ‘Mayor Ichio Asukata’ who held this position between 1963-78. Base stamped with Japanese ‘jungin’ 純銀 ‘pure silver’ mark. In great vintage condition with some usual age-related surface marks. Weight: 24.8 grams.
