Chinese Antique Bleu de Hue Vietnamese Market Porcelain Zhadou Bowl 19th Century

Stunning antique Chinese blue and white porcelain ‘zhadou’ bowl with a silver rim and finely painted underglaze blue decoration depicting a young goatherd resting on a rock in the shade of a willow tree, with a pair of goats walking in front on him. Reverse decorated with a single bat and later incised character, perhaps the name of the owner. Possibly a ‘Bleu de Hue’ type made for the Vietnamese market during the late Qing dynasty.

Fine Antique Japanese Meiji Relief Decorated Gilt Lacquered Porcelain Vases RARE

Very unusual pair of antique Japanese vases with relief moulded cats surrounded by gilt lacquered overglaze decoration featuring flowers and insects that these playful cats are after. Nice quality work all around but the vases are surprisingly not signed. Somewhat reminiscent of Sumida Gawa ceramics but we’ve never seen examples like these before, especially with gilt lacquered overglaze decoration. Any info welcome! Height: each approx. 25.5 cm tall.

Antique Japanese Meiji Period Banko Ware Vase by HARUKAGE aka Fuyama Yutaro RARE

Rare antique Japanese Meiji period Banko ware vase depicting seagulls flying above the waves. Base stamped 布山 (Fuyama/Fuzan) and 春景 (Harukage) which are the marks of Fuyama/Fuzan Yutaro 布山 由太郎 (born in Mino Province in 1836). He was a master of the potter’s wheel and also skilled in hand-twisting, wooden mould making, and tatami construction. He died in 1912 at the age of 77. Height: 15 cm.

Chinese Antique Miniature Blue White Porcelain Vases Clobbered 18th-19th C Qing

Nice set of three Chinese miniature porcelain vases. One black glazed with remnants of gilt decoration and two blue and white examples later decorated – or ‘clobbered’ – in Europe. Height: 6.4 cm, 5.8 cm and 7.2 cm.

Fine Chinese Antique Republic Period Biquan Soapstone Seal by Xinquan Dated 1941

A wonderful Chinese Republic period soapstone seal inscribed 璧泉造像 ‘Statue of Biquan’ and with additional inscription on the side that says 璧泉先生造像 ‘Statue of Teacher Biquan’ and with cyclical date 辛巳 at the end, corresponding with year 1941. There also appears to be signature of ‘Xinquan’ 心泉 which might belong to Gao Xinquan (高心泉), a well-known Republic period seal carver based in Beijing. He produced seals for many important Republic period figures such as Qi Baishi and others.For reference see:

Nice set of three Chinese silver hat or hair pins with etched decoration depicting flowers and insects. Pin on the left has a faint mark on the back. It is hard to read but it could possibly be 水和 ‘Shui He’, though we are not familiar with this silversmith. Longest one is 8cm long. Combined weight is 15.8 grams.
