Large Tibetan hand-painted Buddha Mandala thangka with a multitude of Buddhist figures arranged in geometric pattern (mandala) depicting The Wheel of Dharma (Dharmachakra).

Eight sections of the wheel represent The Eightfold Path to enlightenment. Buddha Mandala is a visual device used during Tantric meditation to improve concentration and help with attainment of higher states of consciousness.

Thangka is in good antique condition with minor loss of paint consistent with age and usage. Linen canvas is mounted on original Tibetan silk brocade with red sik liner. Round Kathmandu stamp to the back of the canvas.
