One of the most iconic Japanese shin-hanga woodblock prints by Takahashi Shotei depicting two figures with umbrellas crossing Izumi bridge at night and battling against a heavy shower. Inscribed and stamped with ‘Shōtei’ red seal on the left. Very good impression in excellent condition with strong colours. Nicely framed and glazed in its original frame showing some signs of age. Print, frame and glass were taken apart and professionally cleaned to remove dust accumulated inside.
