Fantastic pair of large Blanc de Chine Buddhist lions dating to the second half of the 17th century. Each seated on a rectangular plinth, resting its paw on a brocade ball and holding a ribbon in its jaws. One of the figures bears collection label of L. Wannieck, Paris. Another one bears remnants of two additional collection labels and a hand-written inscription in black ink.
Condition: Right lion in excellent condition. Left lion missing small part of his tail and one of the fangs. Both with some typical minor firing flaws. Without restorations. UV checked.
