Finely carved Chinese Peking glass snuff bottle decorated with bats flying among the clouds and coins on a string. Combination of auspicious bats and Chinese ‘eye coins’ represents visual rebus or pun that can be deciphered as ‘happiness lies before your eyes’. Group of eight bats may also represent the Eight Immortals of Daoism. Comes with a modern replacement stopper.

Snuff bottle is in very good antique condition without any damage or repair. Some very small flea bites around the inner rim of the foot.
