Large 18th century Chinese octagonal blue and white export porcelain platter depicting auspicious scene with spotted deer, cranes, pine trees and lingzhi, all traditional symbols of longevity. Platter was later decorated – or ‘clobbered’ – in Europe with colourful overglaze enamels featuring oversized butterflies and numerous floral sprays all around. Really nice and well-preserved example of its type.
In great condition with only minor nibbles and frits around the rim. No hairlines.
Dimensions: 39×29 cm
