Beautifully carved marble statue depicting crowned Buddha with serene face seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus throne and with his hands in Bhumisparsha mudra. This posture symbolizes the moment of awakening under the Bodhi tree when Siddhartha summoned the Earth to bear witness to his enlightenment and the defeat of Mara. In good condition with some age-related loss of lacquer and gilding.
