Fabulous large Japanese octagonal cloisonné charger or centrepiece raised on a rectangular foot. Fine quality enamelling features large central medallion with floral sprays against a blue-green cloud diaper ground, surrounded by a border with intricate geometric patterns interspersed with additional foliate motifs. Similar style of decoration is repeated on the underside and the foot is enamelled lime green with a large flower in the middle. Rare and unusual example of fine quality Meiji cloisonné work.
In very good condition for its age with only minimal losses to enamels around the corners as per photographs.
