Wonderful large Canton enamel wine pot of quatrefoil section, with canted corners, flat top set with a tall loop handle and domed lid surmounted by a lotus bud finial. Decorated in the manner of Qianlong period examples with cartouches depicting birds and insects amidst flowers, reserved on a green diaper ground and interspersed by bats, chimeras and floral motifs.
Enamels are in surprisingly good condition throughout with only some very minor age-related nibbles and surface marks as per photographs. No hairlines visible apart from some tiny tension cracks around the edge of the base. UV checked.
