Finely detailed and fully enamelled calligraphy brush pot with hand-painted blue and white landscape scene featuring two scholars with an attendant surrounded by an impressive mountain landscape with rocky outcrops, vegetation and a lake or a river. One of the figures is pointing towards a mountain retreat in the distance. Calligraphy inscription with two red seals just below the rim. Apocryphal blue four-character Qianlong mark to the base. Very nicely executed and absolutely unique scholar’s object for your collection. Â
Brush pot is in good condition without any loss of enamels and with only some vertical tension cracks visible. These do not detract from the beauty of the artwork and might actually clean up nicely if you wish to do so.
