Unusual Cantonese sandalwood box with a domed lid. All sides are decorated with various fishing scenes framed within quatrefoil cartouches and surrounded by a profusion of foliate scrolls. Intricately carved in high relief and with a lovely surface patina.

Good condition with some typical age-related tension cracks and small parts of relief-carved decoration missing as per photographs.
