Absolutely stunning Japanese Meiji period cloisonne enamelled plate with a large central medallion depicting various flowers and a butterfly, framed by gorgeous outer border depicting a group of ‘chidori’ birds (plovers), each in a different pattern, flying in a circle against a background of clouds.
In great antique condition without losses. Typical minor tension lines visible in the enamels on the back of the dish as photographed.
