Very finely carved bamboo root figure of a reclining Daoist Immortal in long flowing robes, holding a ruyi sceptre in his right hand and with a foo lion at his feet. Wonderfully expressive face and stunning details all around.

In good antique condition consistent with age. Middle section of the ruyi sceptre is missing and there is one break to the base of the figure that is visible only from underneath.
