Chinese Qingbai ware ceramic urn with moulded figural decoration in low relief. Iconography of the decoration combines human figures with a variety of real and mythological creatures including dragon, phoenix, crane, stag and others. Urns such as this one were intended to hold grain and other offerings placed inside tombs.
Vessel is in good antique condition with wear consistent with age and use. Fine crackle all around with minor loss of glaze around the edges of the relief decoration. Minor scratches and general wear more prominent on the lower half of the elongated body. Several larger chips around the foot as per photographs. Comes without its original cover.
