Antique Japanese Carved Boxwood Netsuke of Wolf and Hare by Masatomo. Edo Period

Fantastic early 19th century, Edo period boxwood netsuke depicting a seated starving wolf (Okami) with a hare under his front paw. His eyes and mouth wide open, as if resting after a successful chase. Signed Masatomo 正友.

Good overall condition with small loss to one of the ears and to the very tip of hare’s tail.

Measures approx. 3 cm tall and 5 cm across.
