Antique Indian Bronze Figure of Four Armed Lord Murugan (Subrahmanya). South India, 19th century

A 19th century South Indian bronze figure of four-armed Hindu deity Murugan, son of Shiva and Parvati. He is also known under the names Kartikeya, Skanda or Subrahmanya. Depicted standing in Samapada on a lotus throne, holding sakti and vajra in his upper hands and his lower hands in Abhaya and Varada mudra. Statue has a lovely dark surface patina.

In good antique condition with small original casting flaws and some surface marks consistent with age.
