Very pretty 18th century blue and white export dish featuring a pair of chickens surrounded by oversized peonies and with a simple honeycomb diaper border around the rim. Later over-decorated or ‘clobbered’ in England with bright overglaze enamels featuring a dragon in the central field and additional floral sprays on a lime green ground.
In good antique condition with typical glaze wear, one small star hairline on the back and fritting around the rim that’s been touched up with brown enamel. Great display piece for a collection!
