Fabulous pair of antique Japanese Hirado porcelain tea bowls and saucers decorated in aka-e Kutani style. Beautifully painted and very thinly potted examples in great condition (it’s rare to see examples without hairlines). Each piece signed 満宝山枝栄造 ‘Made by Manpozan Guiei/Shiei’ which was studio name used from 1871 after the management of the Mikawachi kiln was transferred to Furukawa Uknichi/Choji and later in 1874 to Toyoshima Masaharu.

Antique Hampatong Dayak Statue Guardian Figure From Borneo Kalimantan 19th-20th C

Wonderful antique Hampatong statue, most likely by the Dayak people of Borneo/Kalimantan. Depicting a seated guardian spirit or ancestor holding his legs which are drawn towards the body in a posture typical of Hampatong figures. These were traditionally placed near the entrances to their dwellings or along footpaths leading to the river and protected villagers against evil spirits.

Rare Chinese Ming dynasty gilt-lacquered bronze figure of a Bodhisattva seated on a lotus throne and holding a bowl with two lotus stems rising to the shoulders. Likely depicting Amitayus/Amitābha Buddha. Dating to the late 16th or early 17th century. Stylistically similar example in the collection of Ralph M. Chait Galleries has inscription and cyclical date corresponding to year 1593.

Chinese Antique Export Silver Vase With Bird and Flowers by Sincere & Co 70g

Attractive antique Chinese silver vase decorated with a bird perched on a blossoming branch, looking at a pair of butterflies flying above. Base stamped with the mark of retailer Sincere & Co with letter S and Chinese form of their name ‘Xian Shi’ 先施 (short for 先施公司). Between them is the purity mark 90. Mark on the left appears to be character 壎 ‘Xūn’.
